I strive to provide inclusive, individualized, and evidence based care. I strongly encourage and assist birthing people and families to educate themselves about birth options and make choices based on their knowledge and intuition.
I began my journey in midwifery in Colorado in 1994 during my own pregnancy, beginning private practice in 1996, and becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) through the National Association of Register Midwives (NARM) in 2003. I have attended hundreds of births at homes, birth centers, and in the hospital, in the United States, Jamaica, Canada, and Mexico. I participate in continuing education opportunities several times a year and maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and CPR certification. In addition to my work in midwifery, I hold a MA.ED in Environmental Education and Natural Science. I am an experienced science and midwifery educator and work as a strength coach.
